Blood Bank
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center has done away with the Blood Assurance Program. If an Escapee requires blood while hospitalized, they do not need to call us if they are covered by Medicare. Medicare will pay for all blood services and one does not have to replace the units used.
However, if the patient is not covered by Medicare, after they have received the blood units, they may call the office (888-757-2582, ask for Sherri Burks), and give her the patient's name, Social Security number, name and location of the hospital, date of the blood services, and the hospital's AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) number. At our next blood drive (or drives), all donations will be designated for that patient until the need is met. Remember, patients are asked to replace 10 units for each unit used in the hospital!To find a location near you, call 1-800-458-9388.
 Please note, the Escapees Group Plan Account Number: 0756 Accumulated credits from the Escapees account may be used by any Escapees member. Authorization must come from National.
