- SHANTY SHAKERS
LOCATED IN AND AROUND SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA. MOST OF OUR RALLIES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE OCEAN, MOUNTAINS, OR DESERT.
The Shanty Shakers was founded on August 24th 1989 with 43 members. The name Shanty Shakers was the idea of our first President, Bill Hitt, who had been a commercial truck driver for many years hauling mobile homes. The truckers call these rigs "shanty shakers".

The Shanty Shakers meet on the 4th Saturday of each month at 10:00AM at the Denny's Restaurant at the intersection of Navajo Road and Fletcher Parkway, El Cajon, CA. Visiting SKPs welcome!

We are fun bunch and welcome other SKPs to join us at any of our rallies. If you have not joined the Escapees yet, you are welcome to come check us out!! Please call the listed host.
MAY 21-24,2013:Sacred Rocks RV Park, 1331 Shasta Way in Boulevard, CA 91905 hosted by the John and Wendy Pumphrey (619 448-0633 or wenjoh@cox.net). Make your own reservation by calling 888 703-0009 or 619 766-4480. Be sure to inform them you are with Escapees Shanty Shakers. The cost is $22.50 per night. Ten to fifteen sites are being held for us. Wednesday night we will have a potluck and Dutch Oven desserts. On Thursday evening will we have an auction of new or gently used items with the proceeds to benefit CARE.(tax deductible donation, checks preferred) Items should be wrapped. Activities in the area include Golden Acorn casino, Wisteria Candy Cottage and a good cafe in Campo. There are several off roading areas or you can enjoy a quiet walk the Labyrinth. Whatever you are up for, its sure to be a good times with good SKP friends !
JUNE 30-JULY 5 2013: Escapades 35th Birthday Bash in Gillette, Wyoming at the Cam-Plex event facility. Come for a week packed full of educational, fun and social events. Herb and Dayle Sands will represent the chapter on the Row. Check the Escapee website often for details (www.escapees.com/escapade)
JULY 4,2013 Red Beach on Camp Pendleton hosted by the Kalendas and the Gladdings. A pass is required to access the beach area. Contact the hosts for information on how to gain access to the beach. Bring your fishing poles!
SEPTEMBER 7, 2013: lunch as the Spaghetti Factory in San Marcos hosted by Clark and Betty Paxton
OCTOBER 23-25: enjoy autumn and explore the apple orchards at a rally hosted by the Foster’s and Walker’s 760 727-8074, Cell 760 519-1821 at the Banning Stagecoach KOA,1455 San Gorgonio Ave,Banning, CA 92220. 10 sites reserved and 3 are 50 amp sites. First come first served
