ESCAPEES MAPLE LEAF CHAPTER 18

Ontario is a vast province in the center of Canada. Toronto, the capital of the Province has world class cultural activities, fine dining, good shopping and recreation. Toronto is home to baseball's Toronto Blue Jays, basketball's Raptors and hockey's Toronto Maple Leafs.

Membership: $10 for two years for Escapee members, which includes a subscription to the Nickle Beaver (Chapter 18 newsletter). Membership renewals are due on July 1st and can also be paid at the Spring Rally. Please send dues to the Treasurer: Don Mitchell, 6 Oriole Dr., Gloucester, ON, K1J 7E9.

Southwestern Ontario:

Luncheons are held May to December (except September) at the Palace Restaurant, Glencoe, Ontario:

Glencoe is located between London and Chatham. Gather at the restaurant at 12:00 noon and lunch will be at 12:30 p.m. Anyone who is interested can just show up, or contact Tena Calwell at 519-287-3234, or E-mail: tecgac@pocketmail.com.

Central Ontario:

Luncheons are also being held at Tuckers Market Place, 3110 South Service Road (Queen Elizabeth Way & Guelph Line), Burlington, Ontario, on the following dates:

Directions to Tuckers Market Place: From the Queen Elizabeth Way, go south-east on Guelph Line to the first stoplight (Harvester Road) then next left onto South Service Road to the restaurant. Northern Ontario: (NEW!)

Peta Arends will be hosting a luncheon in Barrie at 12:30 p.m., May 14, 2008 and October 8, 2008, at the Market Buffet and Grill Restaurant, 141 Mapleview Drive West, Barrie, ON. Take the Molson Drive exit from Hwy. 400 and drive west approximately 1 km. Chapter 18 Fall 2008 Rally

DATE: September 2 - 5, 2008

PLACE: Windmill Point Park, Ridgeway, Ontario

Twenty serviced sites are available plus adequate sites for dry camping. Camping fees will be $19 per night, plus tax. Rally fee is $6 per person. We suggest campers reserve sites as soon as possible directly with the park at 1-888-977-8888, preferably by June 30.

DIRECTIONS:

Take the QEW toward Fort Erie and exit at Exit 16 (Sodom Rd S) to Garrison Rd. (No. 3 Hwy.). Turn left to Stonemill Rd. S, then turn right to Dominion Rd. Go 500 feet and turn left at yellow entrance sign.

ACTIVITIES:

Tuesday, the arrival day, we will have a pot luck supper. There are many attractions in the area: Welland Canal, Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake, Outlet Shopping, etc. Bring your bikes as there are wonderful bike trails. There will be dinner at one of the local restaurants on Thursday night. Please bring non-perishable food for the Food Bank instead of a donation for the gift table.

Chapter 18 Fall 2009 Rally

DATE: September 8 - 11th, 2009

PLACE: Dorchester Agriculture Society Fairgrounds

Hook-ups - 15 amp electric service and water. A dump station is available. Camping fees will be $22 per night. Rally fee is $6 per person.
