Rocky Mountain High Chapter # 2 State of Colorado
(This page maintained by Bobbie Chapman. Last modified: 8/2/2010 2:11:10 PMCentral time.)
After several years of inactivity the state of Colorado has an active chapter, Colorado Rocky Mountain High. We have had three successful rallies in 2009 and 2010 -
We have a good mix of full time and part time rvers. We enjoy great potlucks, brown bag exchanges and sing-a-longs around the camp fire.
It was agreed at the business meeting in September, 2009, to have at least two rallies per year with the desire to cover all areas of the state as weather permits - where snow has melted in the Spring and where snow hasn't yet started in the Fall.
Our business year is set from June to May. We have 73 members as of the May 2010 rally we had in Montrose.

We enthusiastically want to get the word out that this chapter is seeking new members, so we'd appreciate your help in passing the word around to all Colorado Escapee members and rv friends you know that the Colorado Chapter#2 is alive and kicking and accepting new members. Dues are $5 per person per year.

Our next rally will be held September 19-22, 2010 at the Denver East KOA located 45 miles east of Denver in the city of Strasburg, Colorado.
The facility not only has all the amenities we need for a group as large as ours but also offers some special treats such as Breyers Ice Cream served on a marble top and fresh on site pizza, they even have a popcorn machine for those who need a light snack during those late night card games. Owners Jeff & Tracy Hastings and their staff are very friendly and committed to seeing that our stay is an enjoyable one.
Although the area may not be as rich in local attractions as some of our outings the City of Strasburg does offer tours through a local museum, and old movie theater, or a working foundry. There is also two tracks close by for the racing enthusiast but the September schedule has not been completed at this time.
Our Rally Hosts Lee & Susan Wallace and Dennis Smith and Carolyn Tecklenburg are planning some new and interesting activities along with some of our old favorites.
Fees range from
$31.96 for a 30 amp full hookup pull thru to $36.61 for a 50 amp full hookup pull thru or
$30.10 for a 30 amp water & electric only
These prices include tax and a multi unit 10% discount. Reservations require a one night deposit, and we need 5 reservations with deposits to hold all 20 sites. Please contact Chuck Derington at chuckderington@comcast.net or call at 303)986-6192 for additional information on registering or any ideas on the rally.
