Gold Nugget Chapter 24

Chapter 24 is the only SKP chapter to be formed in Paradise — California, that is. Formed in August 1989, the chapter was formed to fill the needs of members who like to travel to different areas each month to meet and make new friends.

We meet ten times a year, including a Christmas gathering the first week in December, which is our last outing until spring. Rally sites have ranged from natural settings near Lassen Park and Shasta Lake to valley campgrounds amid meadows and oaks. We've had rallies in Gold Country locales in the Sierra foothills and on the California coast. One gathering was held in Nevada at Boom-town's RV Park.

"Remember, Chapter 24 members, our membership director will accept 2008 dues of $10 which are due December 1, delinquent December 31. Failing to pay your dues on time may result in your name not being included on the 2008 roster which is distributed with the first (March/April) newsletter, and also in your not receiving your newsletter. We plan 10 rallies each year in Northern California. Most of our rallies are held at county fairgrounds with electric and water, or in RV parks with full hook-ups. Typical activities include morning coffee, games, hikes, and field trips during the day, 4:00 pm friendship hour, dinner out or as a group, and evening game tables. Officers are elected at the September rally; our November rally features a Thanksgiving Dinner. The December gathering includes a Christmas Banquet, Installation of officers, a soup pot luck, cookie exchange, biscuit & gravy breakfast, live auction, Christmas activities and much, much more.
