Florida Gateway Chapter 27

Chapter 27 was organized on March 7, 1990. A chapter provides a framework for SKP members to meet on a local level, and Chapter 27 does this well. We have monthly luncheons from November to May, along with 2 rallies (Spring and Fall). Remember, all SKPs are welcome at all of our activities. Our dues are $5 per year, and our membership year is 1/1 to 12/31, with dues due no later than 4/30 of the next year. We publish a newsletter, "The Avenue" with 3 issues per year. The majority of our members are not Florida residents. They are Escapees who enjoy spending the winter months here because: · Florida winters have warm days and cool nights while most of the country is cold. · There is so much to see and do: o There is The Mouse House and other amusement parks, wilderness areas, a large variety of birds (egrets, eagles, flamingos, herons, etc.), alligators, snakes, the Florida panther, campfires with friends, boating and swimming (lakes, Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico), State and Federal Parks.

Escapees Florida Gatherings for Lunch:

Where: : Wekiva Falls RV Resort, 30700 Wekiva River Rd, Sorrento, FL 32776. Camping Fees for the rally are $23.00 per night ($92.00 for the four night rally) payable to the park upon check-in at the gate.

When: March 22 to 26, 2010 (Four nights with Hitches on the 26th).

Hosts: Officers Past and Present.

Registration: Please register with Larry & Marilyn Forbes, Telephone: (352) 250-2558, or Email: MLForbes@Escapees.com. In order to reserve a site with the Chapter at the rally rate, you must make your reservation by Sunday March 7th. You may be able to make a reservation with the park after that date, but they may not be able to give you a site with the chapter. You may also register with Larry & Marilyn to come in one night early at the rally rate. For arrivals earlier than one night, you must register with the park for the earlier nights and pay the normal daily rate of $40/night.

Rally Fee: $10 per person.

Wekiva River Cruise $10 Per Person: The cruise is scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th. The boat takes 24 people per cruise, so we have scheduled cruises at 11:00AM, 12:00PM, and 1:00PM. We need to know in advance if you are taking the cruise, so please let Larry & Marilyn know when you register.
