2011 Rally Results
The JUNE 2011 RALLY was held at Woodmore Campground in Rindge NH, from June 9 to 12, 2011
The rally was a success and enjoyed by all!
It was great to see old friends again.
The Wagonmasters did an outstanding job ensuring that the schedule of events ran smoothly and also with the preparation of the delicious meals they served.
Woodmore Campground was a great place to have the rally. The management of the campground had changed hands within the past couple of years, and the new owners have spent the time wisely by upgrading the campground significantly in their relativey short time of ownership.

WAGON MASTER'S REPORT ON THE AUGUST RALLY
The August 2011 rally, better known as "Lobsterfest" was held at the Pumpkin Patch RV Resort in Hermon Maine. The official rally dates were from Aug. 17th to 21st.
There was a total of 25 rigs, with 47 Escapees and guests. Some of the SKP's were not Chapter 3 members, but were very welcome just the same.
A group of attendees arriving early before the official start date enjoyed a pre-rally dinner at Anglers Restaurant, nearby in Hampden.
The first day of the rally consisted of a social hour and a welcome dinner after registration ended. Maybelle Auclair prepared a delicious haddock chowder to highlight the meal. The first day was topped off by a relaxing campfire following the "Welcome Dinner".
Thursday began with the breakfast offerings of coffee, orange juice, and a choice of bagels, donuts, english muffins and toast. This breakfast was also served the next two mornings as well. Thursday morning after breakfast, attendees had the opportunity to play several types of games (outdoor and indoor) thanks to the elaborate array of game options offered by Pumpkin Patch. There was a brown-bag auction Thursday afternoon. The auction netted $240 which was divided in two: $120 for the chapter and also $120 for the CARE facility in Livingston, TX. Many thanks to the volunteers: Fran Lambert and Joe Noll who were the auctioneers; and Lucy Rae and Larry Space running the grid.
Thursday evening brought the tunes of Rockin' Ron and his 60's music band: The New Society Band, which had the attendees dancing most of the night. There was a dance contest which featured the twist. Winners of the "twist" contest were the Johnsons: Chuck and Cricket.
Patty Rogers of Livingston TX, also now a Chapter 3 member, "manned" the lemonade bar to offer refreshments to the throng. Many thanks to Patty. We were glad that she still had a chance to dance a number or two!
After breakfast and a free day on Friday we all joined together for a "pot luck" dinner followed by "The Iron Chef Dessert Contest". Four delicious entries were submitted and judged by 3 members of the Pumpkin Patch staff. Marion Crocker's French Apple Pie was declared the winner, with Maybelle Auclair's Peach Cobbler, taking second place.
Saturday, after breakfast began the countdown to "Lobsterfest", the highlight of the rally. Corn was getting husked, clams were steaming and lobsters were boiling. A tremendous effort by volunteers made this feast possible, to be enjoyed by all. A special thanks to Armand Auclair for his coordination of having all the food delivered on time, and Fran Lambert for getting all the cooking equipment set up and functioning.
Following the meal, the following people were adopted and welcomed into Chapter 3: Patty Rogers; Pamela Pierce; Chuck and Cricket Johnson; Larry and Joyce Space; Michael and Margie Parr; Helmut Koch and Mairead Stein & Bruce and Arlene Hanson. The last four stated names became new Escapees at this rally as well.
A short annual meeting was held in the afternoon. Patty Rogers acted as secretary, recording the minutes, substituting for Sue Piotrowicz who was unable to attend the rally. Following the meeting was an election for two club officers: president and secretary, in accordance with the Chapter's revised bylaws which has staggered elections: Two offices are up for election each year. Next year the vice-president and treasurer offices will be up for election.
Joan Hurd was reelected president and Tracey Magee was newly elected to be Club Secretary, both for a term of two years.
Saturday evening featured an ice cream social with a rally cake to be enjoyed by all.
Drawings were conducted following the social. This included the 50/50 drawing which had accumulated $172 before Pete Corson turned in the winning ticket. $86 was won by Pete with the remaining $86 will be sent to CARE as well.
Many door prizes were given out next, which included a $25 gift certificate donated by Camping World, 2 annual subscriptions to Gypsy Journal, a U.S. flag and pole and maple syrup donated by the Lamberts and other items donated by the wagon masters.
Following the door prize drawings a Kangaroo Court took place, featuring Chapter 3's dynamic duo: Judge Fran Lambert and Sheriff Maybelle Auclair. This was a hillarious affair not to be missed. The sheriff had many of us including us wagon masters up on charges.
Sunday morning featured a special breakfast of Maine blueberry pancakes and sausages.
After breakfast most of us hitched up and headed for destinations elsewhere. The rally now officially over.
Now that Lobsterfest 2011 had come to a conclusion, many of us reflected on the past few days. The weather was ideal this year. Most of the days included lots of sun and fair weather.
Thanks again to all who volunteered their efforts to make this rally a success. Also a special thanks to Joyce Space who took many photos as "rally photographer".
