Chapter 44

Welcome to the Alberta Roamers!

We're a friendly, outgoing chapter with members throughout Alberta, as well as in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. More than a third of our members are Americans, so we are truly an international chapter.

If you've never been to a Chapter 44 event, why not join us soon. We host 3 rallies and 4 lunches a year and we'd be delighted if you could attend. It's a great way to learn about the RV lifestyle, share tips and ideas, and have a lot of fun with like-minded people. Our activities are open to all Escapees. If you're not a SKP, you are still welcome to attend - come check us out. We may be just what you're looking for!

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to all Escapees. Fees are $10 CAD a year, due August 31. If you'd like to join or renew your membership, please send your cheque or money order to: Ann Hills, Treasurer, 1112-200 Community Way, Okotoks, AB T1S 2L2. (Note: Ann will be travelling until May 2009, so please ensure that your cheque or money order is still valid by then. Thanks.)

Along with your payment, remember to include: your full name(s), complete mailing address (including postal/zip code), phone number and e-mail address. Your membership includes a subscription to our newsletter sent 3 times a year, either by post or as a pdf. (Please specify which you'd like to receive.)

Upcoming Rallies and Events

MEET & EAT

We hold 4 lunches a year, on the 2nd Wednesday of May, July, September and October, at various locations around Alberta. This is a good opportunity to visit and catch up on news. If you've never attended a Chapter 44 function, joining us for lunch is a great way to start.

Lunch dates for 2009: Wed. May 13 ~ Wed. July 8 ~ Wed. Sept 9. Hosts, times and locations will be posted later.

WINTER RALLY ~ MARCH 2009

Date: Mon. Mar 9 to Fri. Mar. 13, 2009

You are welcome to arrive early, after 1:00 PM on Sun. Mar. 8. You can also stay an extra night, with departure on Sat. Mar. 14, by 12 noon. No activities are planned for either of these days.

Place: Usery Mountain Recreation Area, 3939 North Usery Pass Road, Mesa, AZ

Directions: From I-60 take Exit 191 North on Ellsworth Road. It becomes Usery Pass Road. Turn right onto Usery Park Road. Pay camping fees at Park kiosk, then proceed to Group Camp A.

Camping:� $12 per night per rig. Dry camping only. Water on site. Dump station in main campground. Toilets & showers on site.

Rally Fees: To be determined.

Other: Host Dinner on Mon. Mar. 9. Potluck on Wed. Mar. 11. (Please bring a dish to feed 6-8 people.) Hearty Munchies & Ice Cream Social on Thur. Fri. 12. (Hearty Munchies are a cross between a potluck dish and happy hour chips & dip. Please bring finger foods. This is our supper!) And of course the Men's fabulous Hitchup Breakfast on Fri. Mar. 13.
