Escapees RV Club Chapter 51, Hoosier Neighbor

Indiana Chapter 51 was established on July 22, 2005 with a Rally at Pla-Mor Campground located in Bremen, IN. We not only had Indiana residents but some from surrounding states as well. Anyone who is interested in attending or belonging to our chapter is welcome. We will be meeting at least 2 to 3 times a year and the dues are $8.00 yearly payable on or before August 1 of each year.

Starting April 1st, I'll be featuring all members I have a picture of, alphabetically along with a few pix of our most recent rallies. VIEW THESE PHOTO SHOTS BY CLICKING AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE ON THE "CHAPTER PHOTO GALLERY" Link.

President’s View

The Holidays are over for 2008. Stan & I hope all of you had a happy & joyous time.
Now we look forward to 2009.
Stan & I will be going to the Tampa Super RV Show this month. It will be interesting to see how many Units will be there especially with the industry being down so bad. I’m sure we will enjoy it no matter how large it is this year. Then we will be in Sunrise, Florida with Chapter 15’s rally the last week of January.
I know it is early to look ahead at plans for your travels, but keep in mind our rallies.
Our 1st rally will be May 14th-17th in Sullivan, Indiana and then the Tri chapter Rally with Chapter 6 & 36 in Hillsdale, Michigan June 18th-21st. Of course there is the Escapade too. We are working on planning a September rally.
We are always looking for someone to host a rally so let me or Dave McCreary know.
We always have such a good time at our rallies and we need help with rally hosts so we can continue enjoying getting together.

Minutes- Chapter 51 Escapees RV Club September 6th, 2008

Previous minutes approved as printed. Treasurers’ Report: $3282.81 balance in our treasury and one decal for $1000.00 for our banner for care.

Nominations for Vice President, Dave McCreary was the only one. Rail Roaded!
Polly Miller was appointed as the new Newsletter Editor. Jeannette Bechtel was elected as the new treasurer.

Future rallies: Time and place to be announced in the spring Maurice and Shirley Rust will host. Dick and Margaret Snyder will host a rally in the fall, late September or early October. The Escapade will be May 24 to 29, 2009. The Tri-Chapter Rally will be June 18 to 21, 2009. The Chapter 6 25th anniversary will be September 3-7, 2009 and Chapter 36, Ohio will have rallies June 5-7 and August 21-23, 2009. The row representatives for Escapade may be Dave and Jean Pedler.

Betty Bober will order stick on Hoosier Neighbor decals from Two Crazy Ladies. She sent a sign up list around for order quantities.

Roger Hartzler made a motion; we should pay a portion of the Escapade fee for our row representatives; a portion of a full hook-up basic sight. The motion was amended by Butch Williams to pay 50% of a basic full hook-up fee; second by Pat Miller. Amendment passed and the motion passed.

Betty asked about a social at Escapade. Should we have a room, tables, and finger foods or order pizza or other food? A consensus arrived we should have a room, tables and chairs and finger foods.

Stan Bober made a motion to reduce dues if paid for five years at a time by 25% to $30.00 from $40.00; second Nora Hartzler. The motion was amended by Roger Hartzler to read pay for 4 get 5 years; second Pat Miller. Amendment passed and the motion passed. If you pay for five years the cost will be $32.00.

Dale Boenker turned 62 today. Ed Mikolajczak Will turn 71 on Monday and Ed and Joan Mikolajczak will celebrate their 50th anniversary on September 20th, 2008. Pat Miller’s Birthday is the 14th of September and Joyce McCreary’s is the 21st.

23 rigs with 46 people attended this rally and we had 4 guests. The rally report will have a rally financial report.

Roger Hartzler made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Carole Humphrey.

Have you paid your dues for August 2008 through July 2009?
If not and you would like to continue as a member of Hoosier Neighbor Chapter #51, this is a reminder to send your yearly dues of $8.00 to our treasurer Jeannette Bechtel. Or you may want to send $32.00 for 5 years -- that would have you paid through July 31, 2013.
All members with dues still owing on February 1, 2009 will be dropped from our roster in accordance with our bylaws.

Webmaster Report
Hoosier Neighbor member Lon VanOstran (also Michigan Chpt. 6 Pres.) sent me this e-mail. I tried to e-mail it to all Chpt. 51 members so those in the area could possibly attend. The mass e-mailing also gave me the opportunity to test all of the e-mail addresses we have on record for the 51' membership. Only 2 came back as undeliverable and those 2 seemed to be correct addresses? Stan Bober


Hi guys,
I just booked the fairgrounds at Brooksville, Fl. for a chapter 6 winter rally. February 16 (my birthday), 17, and 18.
If this works, I was thinking of making it an annual event. Would you folks like to make it a tri-rally?
No frills. No plans. Just a get together of friends to enjoy the company.
Camping fees $20 per night. Water and electric. Herando County Fairgrounds Website


If you would like to do so, let's make it a LARGE gathering and enjoy more friends.

Chapter #51 Spring Rally 2009


Dates: May 14 – 17 2009

Location: Sullivan County Park and Lake
990 Picnic Rd.
Sullivan, IN. 47882

Rally Fee: $15 per couple or $10 per single.

Campground Fees: $18 per night with a $4 one time entrance fee

Directions to campground: Please use Trailer Life Directory.
One intersection south of the light at 41 & 154 to Washington St.
Turn east and go to Foley Street
Turn North (goes into park).

We have 39 sites with water and electric with dump station on grounds.
We also have a shelter in which they will hang tarps around for weather protection.
Picnic tables in shelter
Camp fire permitted
9 hole golf course (brick chip greens) ($7 Golf Fee) ($4 Golf Cart Fee)
Fishing/boating lake

This is a perfect “spring-board” rally for those wanting to go on to the 2009 May 24th – 29th Escapade in Sedalia, Missouri
