Welcome to the Escapees RV Club Chapter 6 website. Our chapter was organized for the purpose of providing a framework for members of the Escapees Club to make new friends through organized rallies and other announced social activities. We have three chapter-sponsored rallies each summer. We Care & Share. Chapter 6 was the first chapter to be honored for contributing $10,000 to CARE. For this honor, a street was named for Chapter 6 in the CARE area at Rainbow's End. At the September 2009 Rally, Chapter 6 celebrated its 25th anniversary and surpassed $40,000 in donations to CARE. The best part is we had so much fun while raising the donations at special events like auctions, raffles and games at all our rallies.

Sept. 2-6, 2010 - Corunna, MI
Labor Day Weekend Rally

The last Chapter #6 rally of the 2010 season will be held at the Shiawassee County Fairground in Corunna, MI, September 2nd thru 6th. For those of you who enjoy horses, there will be a horse show at the fairground that weekend as well. As usual, there will be lots of good food! The local 4H group operates a restaurant on site which will be open most of the weekend for our use - - and we will use it for 2 of our breakfasts. We are also planning a Potluck Dinner and a Pizza Party.

There are numerous points of interest in the area including the historic Durand Union Station, which we plan to visit and tour. (Durand has a large switch yard which was a bustling center of activity during the "heyday" of train transportation in the 1st half of the 20th century.) The Train Station houses the Michigan Railroad History Museum & the Model Railroad Museum as well as being an active Amtrak station. We have also scheduled a tour of the Curwood Castle and the adjacent Shiawassee Arts Center.

30/50A electric & water sites will be $20/night (with an available dump station) and the rally fee will be $10/person. The rally fee will cover the cost of 3 breakfasts and the pizza party.

Corunna will be a good stopping off point for those of you who are planning to attend the Fall Escapade in Goshen, which kicks off the following weekend. No pre-registration is required for this rally. We hope to see many of you in Corunna in September!

Directions: The Shiawassee County Fairground is located at 2900 E. Hibbard Road in Corunna & is easily accessible from Interstate 69. From the east take exit 118 (M 71) and head north for 3.4 miles toward Corunna. Turn left on Hibbard Rd., the fairground is 2.5 miles ahead on the left. Please use the 1st entrance (East entrance) From the west take exit 113 (Grand River), proceed northwest 1.5 miles, turn right on State Rd. and head north 3.6 miles to Hibbard Rd. Turn right on Hibbard, the fairground is 4/10 mile on the right. Please use the 2nd entrance (East entrance).
