47^th Escapade in Goshen, Indiana

Well, it is over!! 

First some statistics: 864 rigs and 1681 people registered, over 80 seminars, infomercials, craft classes were presented, and 152 visitors came on Community Day.  There were 160 items donated, 52 adapted, and 9 volunteers recruited for “Sew Much Comfort”; 1,112 baby caps were collected for the Goshen Hospital, and $1,436 collected for CARE at Ham-o-Rama!

Then add in BOF meetings, visits to the Row, impromptu Happy Hours, hours of enjoyment of the Pantasia Steel Drum Band, Carl Acuff, Jr. , dancing to Unfinished Business and eating lunch to a variety of entertainment genre. 

The rains held off, some cool weather drove the mosquitoes away (well, some of them anyway) and the sky was blue most of the time.  We met new friends, renewed old friendships, shared a lot and learned even more.  We bought lots of stuff for our rigs, and many volunteered their efforts to make this a great Escapade.  Now we have scattered to the four winds, to meet again at Chapter Rallies and at various wintering places across the country.

Pre-Escapade events were a big hit.  Two hundred people attended a fantastic Boot Camp and graduated with honors.  Over 100 people joined the HOP to visit the local area and had a wonderful time.  Hands on driving classes by RV School were very popular and thirty folks enjoyed the RVSEF classroom driving class designed for RV operators. The Genies had a very successful field trip.

Thanks to all the advertisers, sponsors, vendors and door prize contributors for supporting the event.  Thanks to all the staff that worked many long hours to make the event possible and keep the registration affordable.  Thanks to all the volunteers that gave freely of their time to help in a wide variety of ways to get things done.  And thanks to all the attendees that came to the event and had a wonderful time. 

In nine months we will do it all over again in Gillette, WY, from June 29 – July 5, 2008.
