September 12-17, 2010-Goshen, Indiana
Honor the Past, Embrace the Future. This powerful theme along with the sunrise logo, represents the very essence of the 50th Escapade.
Escapees golden anniversary event dawns September 12, 2010, in Goshen, Indiana, where beautiful horse-drawn buggies signify a slower side to life. We promise attendees will have time to enjoy and reflect as you come and go from the Elkhart County Fairgrounds, but you will also have the hustle-bustle curriculum full of educational choices, from hobbies to lifestyle to technical training, at your doorstep. Attendees will find a thoughtful blend of things familiar and things brand new.
You do not have to be an Escapees member to attend the Escapade!
RV Parking. All attendees will have 30-amp electric and water, but we also have a limited number of full-hookup sites with sewer for a few dollars more. For registration and parking options, go to: registration information.
Education is our specialty! During the 50th Escapade, over 60 educational seminars, classes, workshops, VIP (Info-Mercial) programs, and demonstrations will be offered. There will be three levels/types of seminars taking place at the same time.
- The nationally acclaimed Escapees Boot Camp for RVers will be a free venue this year and a perfect series of classes for newer RVers.
- A second track will be geared to seasoned RVers and include topics on boondocking, full-timing, RV maintenance/repair, new gadgets, and important lifestyle issues including health and recreation.
- The third set will be a variety of classes and workshops from computer skills to hobbies.
- In addition to all of these choices, there will be a full range of craft classes on subjects like painting, matting, sewing, beading and many more!
Check out the list of seminars and workshops and some of the key faculty. The diverse list of topics and speaker bios will clearly reinforce the benchmark that the Escapees RV Club sets for the industry.
Exhibits, RV shows, sponsors, and crafts. Check out the list of exhibitors who will be available in the commercial market area and get more details on the RV display show we have planned in the months ahead. You'll also be proud of our wonderful sponsors who are helping to make this one of the best events ever!
Plan to come early! You may elect to arrive a few days early, get settled in, and visit a bit with your neighbors (if they aren't busy with staff chores!). Check out the early-bird parking options under registration information.
Book a HOP Tour! After you've spent a few days of seminars, workshops, demonstrations and classes, you may want to take a break! A perfect way to do that is to book a relaxing but fun-filled journey around the beautiful Goshen area. You can sit back and enjoy the ride for a change as these HOP tours bus you to some fabulous locations. Pick either tour and then wrap up the day with an amazing dinner served at a local Amish home!
- Amish Back Roads Tour: Learn all about Amish history and culture. You'll start your day at the bakery, then visit Amish businesses, an Amish school, and tour the Meadow Brooke Historic Farm. Your very knowledgeable tour guide will be with you throughout the tour.
- Michiana Tour: You will have a chance to stroll through a hundred-year-old hardware store, antique shops, and dime store, tour the beautiful University of Notre Dame, visit the Studebaker Museum, enjoy the South Bend Chocolate Shop and pick the brain of your tour guide as you go!

Evening Programs: The main event officially begins on Sunday (Sept. 12) with "Orientation," followed by opening ceremonies and one of most crowd-pleasing entertainers ever-Johnny Counterfit! Johnny was selected as a top comedian of the year by Music City News, and we know why. He does more than 25 voice-character impressions in a clean concert format. If you have never seen him and his band, be ready for the perfect kick-off to a week full of fun!
There will be daily socials (which Escapees lightheartedly refer to as "happy hour") with fabulous door prizes, as well as evening games, discussion groups, night classes, chapter and BOF get-togethers, dances, exercise classes, treasure hunts, and a multitude of other exciting activities to choose from.
Event Shirts (as well as hats and sweatshirts) are available at http://www.sportsindiana.com/escapees/index.html now! You will enjoy wearing your 50th Escapade to the opening ceremony. If you place your order early you may pick it up in the commercial market area on Sunday and avoid any shipping fees!
Many plans are still in the works, so be sure and check for updates in Escapees magazine or return to this site from time to time and see what's new.
