We’re once again very excited that Fulltime Families offered a children’s program, Kidscapade. If you will be attending with your children or grandchildren plan to enroll them in Kidscapade. It’s a perfect opportunity for them to meet other young SKPs while you’re attending some seminars or browsing the market, and they have a lot of fun activities planned!  Click here for more information.

Escapade Photo Contest: America's Heartland Through Escapees' Eyes

Escapade Archive 8

Escapade attendees are encouraged to get involved in the fun and festivities in a variety of ways. Each year, members and staff come together to celebrate the unique talents of RVers. For 2018, in addition to our Escapade’s Got Talent performances, we invite our attendees to take part in a photography contest. Join us as we share “America’s Heartland Through Escapees’ Eyes” with entries in three separate categories: RV Community, Landscapes of the Heartland, and Heartland History. Click here to view winning entries.

Escapade Exhibitors

We want to thank all of our exhibitors who joined us at Escapade.  From RV gear to excursion planners to insurance and financial services, a wide variety of products and companies were represented. Attendees could visit the booths located in the market building, as well as visit the businesses set up in the outdoor area. Each afternoon, attendees were invited to the midway to tour RVs and enjoy drinks and snacks from RV Country. Many of these exhibitors also contributed to our welcome bags, nightly door prize drawings and shared their expertise in seminars. For a complete listing of our great market exhibitors CLICK HERE.

Friends New & Old

Every Escapade presents the opportunity to spend time with beloved friends who you only see once a year, as well as the chance to make new ones! Many, many friendships are formed during our various socials, informal campground gatherings, and sometimes, just from sitting next to someone new at a seminar! One of the things that really sets Escapees apart from other clubs is the warm feeling of family and friendship among members, and watching this unfold at each Escapade makes all the long days of planning, organizing, and facilitating so very worth it.

It is hard sometimes when you're parked close to each other and the amenities aren't what you're used to. If you haven't attended a rally before you may be wondering why you left that "perfect spot" behind. To me it isn't about the camping experience (although you will surely gain some new tips!) it's about the community that you are surrounded by. People from all walks of life filled with knowledge, talents and experiences to share. Not just the seasoned RVers, but every individual here is a part of that.

It was our first time working on staff. I cannot thank all of you enough for a wonderful experience. We made some great friends that will be etched in my memory. “We will be back.”

Escapade Evening Entertainment!

Every evening, attendees were treated to a good time from a variety of entertainers, including storyteller Bil Lepp, illusionist Reza, fellow SKPs at Escapade’s Got Talent, and local musicians Twisted Fate at Thursday’s street festival!

Sunday Afternoon- Opening Ceremony

Each Escapade kicks off with Opening Ceremonies, an opportunity to come together and greet each other, celebrate the past year, and cheer on the upcoming event. Following Opening Ceremonies, attendees shared ice cream bars on the lawn of the Mathewson Center!

Sunday Evening- Bil Lepp

Bil Lepp’s humorous, family friendly tall-tales and stories have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages and from all walks of life. A five-time champion of the W. Va. Liars Contest, Lepp’s stories often contain morsels of truth which present universal themes in clever and witty ways. Audiences across the country, from grade schools to corporate execs to the Comedy Central’s Hudson stage, have been delighted by Bil’s mirthful tales and delightful insights into everyday life.

Great opening entertainment with Bil Lepp. Haven't laughed that hard in ages!

Monday Evening- REZA

Recognized as one of the world’s most sought-after entertainers in the illusion industry today, REZA delivers an exciting, innovative, spectacular evening of “shock and awe”. REZA’s grand scale show is designed to connect with the audience, allowing you to see magic up close on a personal level. He isn’t just a magician, he’s a true entertainer. Our attendees had a blast joining him on stage, too!

Wednesday Evening- Escapade's Got Talent

Escapade’s Got Talent! Back by popular demand, Escapade’s Got Talent! took place on Wednesday evening. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the skills and talent of many of our members! From comedic acts to musical performances to energetic line dancing, there was a little bit of everything.

Thursday Afternoon- Chili Cook-off & Closing Ceremony

A fun adventure every year, the chili cook-off is a chance for members to show off culinary skills! We had ten teams enter this year, sharing a variety of interesting recipes and secret ingredients. In total, the cook-off raised $1,966.63 for CARE, a non-profit adult daycare and respite care facility founded by Escapees co-founder, Kay Peterson.

Thursday Evening- 40th Anniversary Street Festival & Fireworks Show

Local food vendors along with local winery and craft beer vendors, plus a local band, lined the street in front of the grand stand for our festive outdoor celebration. It was the perfect way to celebrate a week of friendships and education, and honor the past four decades of Escapees RV Club. Hundreds of attendees piled into the stands after sunset to enjoy a stunning fireworks display.
