Creede, CO, again, YES!!!!

Everybody had such a great time there in 2005 that Escapees decided let’s do it again in 2008. We will have the same great campground, Mountain Views RV Resort, the same great caterers, Jewel Catering and Bakery, and much more. We will have led ATV rides, led Jeep and 4x4 rides, an optional half-day raft trip with Mountain Man Tours, and two optional overnight trips with 4x4s to Silverton, CO.

There will be Jeep rentals available by calling Cottonwood Cove at 719-658-2242 or Lake City Auto & Sports at 970-944-2311, and tell them you are with the Escapees rally.

There will also be ATV rentals available at the locations listed below.  You will need to call these businesses yourself for pricing and availability.

Rio Grande Enterprises is the closest location and we can arrange to trailer the ATVs from this location. 

Twin Pines Motorsports is located in South Fork and we cannot guarantee that the ATVs can be trailered to the RV park. 

If you are renting an ATV you need to do so right away.  July is their busy period; the ATVs are available on a first come first serve basis.  When you call to rent, please let them know that you are with the Escapees RV Club.   

Cost for this event is:

Registration includes 6 nights full-hookup camping, 3 catered dinners, 6 catered continental breakfasts, souvenir pins, door prizes, and led ATV and 4x4 rides.

WE DO REQUEST THAT YOU HAVE EITHER A CB RADIO OR A FAMILY RADIO WITH MULTIPLE CHANNELS IN YOUR 4X4 VEHICLE.  A CB IS PREFERRED.

Optional Overnight 4x4 Silverton Trip:

The overnight trip is optional, and we will be registering nine 4x4 vehicles for each trip.  One trip will leave Monday, July 28, and return Tuesday, July 29.  The second trip will leave Thursday, July 31, and return Friday, August 1. 

Because of its nature, you will need to sign up when you register.  This is an overnight trip to Silverton, CO!!  The trip over will be via Stoney Pass, unless the ford at Pole Creek is too deep, in which case we will take the Cinnamon Pass route.  The return trip will be via California and Engineer Passes, returning to the highway at Lake City. Some of the most interesting and beautiful mountain scenery in Colorado is to be seen on this combination of mountain trails. Elevations over 13,000 feet are found on this route. Silverton is a really neat late 1800s mining town that has great restaurants and saloons for evening dining. It is also the northern terminus of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. 

The evening and dinner in Silverton will be on your own.  Lake City is also worth spending an hour or two strolling around the town and checking out the local shops, especially the ice cream shop.

This optional trip costs $85.00 per couple, $78.00 per single.  This includes hotel room, breakfast, box lunch, and guide.

Optional rafting trip:

Wednesday, July 30, will be a free day during which there will be no scheduled 4x4 or ATV runs.  For your enjoyment, arrangements have been made for a four-hour rafting trip with Mountain Man Tours to raft down the Rio Grande.  Mountain Man Tours will provide you with life jackets, wet boots, and instructions to make this a great ride!!

This optional trip costs $41.00 per person and needs to be signed up for at time of registration.

If anyone would like to come into the campground early or stay after the HOP, you will need to call Mountain Views RV Resort at 719-873-5993 or 719-658-2710 for reservations.

Minimum registration must be met for each HOP event; otherwise the event will be subject to cancellation.  Full refunds would be given.
