Things to Do in Our Area

The park is half way between Foley and the beautiful town of Fairhope. Riviera Centre in Foley is one of the bigger outlet centers. Foley also offers an annual Hot Air Balloon Festival in June, a flower and garden extravaganza in March along with BBQ and Blues at Foley's Heritage Park. For railroad enthusiasts, there is the Railroad Museum nearby.  Fairhope is home to two colleges, with one offering many courses free to Alabama residents.

Mobile, about 30 miles from the park, offers full metropolitan services. For the carnival enthusiast, there is the William and Emily Hearin Mobile Carnival Museum. Don't forget to check out the Alabama ship and sub tours.

Gulf Shores, about 20 miles southeast of the park, is famous for white sandy beaches and state park.  From Gulf Shores, you can take a scenic 22-mile drive to the tip of the peninsula and tour historic Fort Morgan.  Also, enjoy the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras and tour of homes in February.

Pensacola is famous for its Naval Air Museum (free admission!), featuring the Blue Angels, and many fine restaurants.  Pensacola is the spot to enjoy seafood, so keep that in mind when you visit our park.
