Hi Red Hat BoF Ladies!!
Praying you are all well & enjoying the traveling this summer. We are in Lexington, KY, returning to IN for the Solo rally & Escapade just after Labor Day..
I've been working on things for the brownbag luncheon at Goshen and we have a few things to discuss, so I'm looking for a good turn out!! Remember it will be Thursday
I've also been busy working on the events for Gillette Escapade. We plan to have our regular BB Lunch on Thursday, during Escapade...However the gals at Spring Escapade asked for us to get together to go out. That seemed reasonable. I learned that National has Friday booked to within an inch of it's life: Pancake breakfast in town, 4th Parade in town, 30th birthday bash at CamPlex, and Fireworks! Didn't see where we could go anyplace that day. But I did learn, that at this point in time, Sat & Sun are to be filled with member generated events. So I started generating an event for us!!!! I called several resturants to see about us decending on them for a brunch, they all gasped! Not enough room for 160 or so to gather. So I contacted a convention/business center and they have given me a price of about $15 each for a brunch and the use of the room for 4 hours. I'm sure, with a little help, we can figure out how to use up 4 hours! However, what I need now is enough money to hold the room/date. Seeing as we have no treasurery, there are no funds for me to draw on and I can't foot the down payment tab of $400. SO, what I need is for those of you, who KNOW you are going to Gillette to send in the money now. I will put it in it's own account, at a bank, where ever I am when I have enough to make it count. I also need some volunteers to take over a few chores.

I've always called this 'high class' begging. But you'd be surprised how national banks will step to the plate and donate key rings, pens, or the like. I've even had them give Cashiers checks! There is always Walmart and possibly Flying J, Gillette has both, however this far in advance a letter to corperate could get us some goodies..I have other ideas to discuss with the volunteers.
Speaking of volunteers, one of our new Red Hatters, new Escapees, newly retired from the Army after 32 years has volunteered (Boy, she didn't learn much in the Army, did she?!) to send this out to all 363 of you.
