Chapter 1: We Want You (822kb) - The call to serve came in different ways. Some volunteered, others received a piece of paper that in essence, said, "You’re hired." No matter how an individual began their war experience, most served with pride, and we are proud to know you.
Chapter 2: All Ages Have Memories (689kb) - No matter what age you were, nor where you were during the war, lasting impressions were etched.
Chapter 3: In Another Land (812kb) - Serving in the war meant you weren’t home. Everything was different and everyone did their best to adjust. But sometimes a little bit of home, in some small way, was brought to the troops.
Chapter 4: Then and Now (708kb) - The memories are as fresh today as if they happened yesterday, not decades ago. There is still the pain, the laughter, the tears and the joy, yes, the joy, of sharing the experiences with all generations.
Chapter 5: The Grand Finale (850kb) - Patriotism soared during World War II. Everyone rallied to the cause. It was the war to end all wars. But in subsequent years, with prosperity and security, the feeling dissolved to apathy. History, of course, has a way of repeating itself, and there have been wars since World War II. Fighting for territory rights, human rights, religious rights may never end. We can only hope that, someday, the world will learn what most Escapees members already know: how to care about and for our fellow human beings, and how to share with each other.
