This Hangout is currently sold out, but join the waiting list and we’ll let you know if a spot opens up!

Focus on your personal well-being

As RVers, we know how important it is to take care of our physical health (even if we sometimes don’t give it as much attention as we should). But having a healthy body is only one part of overall wellness–we also need to care for our mental and spiritual health as well, especially after the challenges of the last couple of years. During the seven-day Body, Mind and Spirits Hangout, April 18-25, 2022, you’ll be able to focus on all three facets of your personal well-being under the skillful guidance of Escapees member Theresé Julo, a full-time RVer and traveling yoga and meditation teacher. And if you’d like to focus more specifically on learning yoga or improving your existing yoga practice, you’ll also have the option to add a three-day Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat, April 15-18, before the Hangout.

Most mornings during the Hangout will begin with guided meditation, yoga, pilates, or water aerobics classes. Later in the day, we might be kayaking, playing pickleball, or hiking one of the area’s many beautiful trails. We’ll have informative talks on the benefits of massage therapy and healthy nutrition. You’ll also have the opportunity to indulge in a private massage therapy session.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Hangout without some time to explore the local area. We’ll spend a day in Cottonwood, the heart of Arizona’s wine country, and visit some of the sites of the early Indigenous Americans, such as Tuzigoot or Montezuma’s Castle. There will also be time to visit the vibrant galleries and New Age shops of Sedona.

And that last “s” in “Spirits” is not a typo! In addition to the wine tasting rooms in Cottonwood, our Hangout experience will include a visit to the Alcantara Vineyards and Winery in Camp Verde and the Oak Creek Brewery and Grill in Sedona.

Our group meals will continue our emphasis on wellness, with a healthy catered dinner after the nutritionist talk, a smoothie bar by the pool one afternoon, a potluck dinner featuring your best good-for-you recipes, and even healthy snacks at our traditional Get The Heck Out breakfast on the last day of the Hangout.

Optional pre-Hangout Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat

If you’d like to deepen your practice of yoga and build a closer community with other yogis on the road, add the optional Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat to your Hangout registration.

For many of us, practicing yoga on the road is different than in the studio. It’s tough to build a sustainable yoga practice when you practice alone and your schedule and location are always changing. This yoga-focused weekend retreat will be dedicated to building sustainable practices to soothe your mind, body, and spirit while building your RV yogi community.

When you join us for the optional Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat, you’ll have the chance to experience:

  • Daily guided meditation
  • Different types of rejuvenating and restorative yoga you can practice in a park setting, using breath and deep stretching to replenish and energize your being
  • Vortex hiking in the red rocks of Sedona, one of the few places on earth with elevated energy levels, which we’ll capture with yoga sprinkled into our hike
  • Holistic creative practices, such as the use of essential oils and chakra elements and colors, that encourage alignment of your mind, body, and spirit
  • Sacred yoga practice under the full moon, where we’ll learn to capture the moon’s unique energy by making moon water infused with our intentions
  • A drumming lesson followed by a guided spiritual drum circle, in which the fluid movements and rhythm of the drum beats brings tranquility and soothes your soul
  • A spiritual hike in Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park, a sacred site visited by travelers from around the world for peace, prayer, and healing

The Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat will begin on the afternoon of Friday, April 15, and end the morning of Monday, April 18, right before the Body, Mind and Spirits Hangout. If you attend the Retreat, you’ll be able to stay in the same RV site through the Hangout.

At this time, you must be registered for the Body, Mind and Spirits Hangout to attend the Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat. If you’re traveling in your RV with a spouse, partner or friend(s), one or more of you may choose to register for the Retreat while the others elect not to participate.

Optional activity: Coyote Canyons Pink Jeep Tour ($91/person)

Sedona’s remote canyons are just as stunning as its ascending trails, and you’ll discover their beauty in during this 2-hour guided tour in one of Pink Adventure Tours’ iconic, customized, open-air Pink Jeep Wranglers. Wildlife, scenery and photo ops abound during this initiation to the rugged Sedona backcountry. You’ll learn about Thunder Mountain, Boynton Canyon, Doe Mesa, Bear Mountain and the Camel’s Caravan on this scenic tour. The tour price of $91/person includes a group discount, all taxes and gratuities.

Hangout location

Camping for both the Body, Mind and Spirits Hangout and the optional Rejuvenate Yoga Retreat will be at the Verde Ranch RV Resort in Camp Verde, Arizona. This beautiful park features spacious, big-rig-friendly full-hookup sites with 30/50A service and upscale amenities like a heated pool, two hot tubs, firepit, fitness center, laundry and shower facilities, convenience store, pet park, playground, and pickleball courts, as well as walking trails along the nearby river.
This Hangout is limited to only 30 RVs and tickets will go quickly—so don’t wait to register

COVID-19 precautions

Because the safety of our members and staff is our number one priority, proof of either full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required to attend this event.

Escapees recommends that members be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before attending any club event. (“Fully vaccinated” means that at least two weeks have passed since receiving either the second dose in a 2-dose vaccine series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson). Participants who are not fully vaccinated must obtain a COVID-19 test not more than 72 hours (three days) before entering this event.

    • At event check-in, you will be asked to present either a valid CDC vaccination card showing that you are fully vaccinated OR the written results of a negative COVID-19 test performed within the past 72 hours.
    • If you don’t have a test, have lost your vaccination card, or are outside of the 72-hour window, locations of the nearest testing facilities will be provided to you. You will be required to self-isolate until a negative test can be provided.
    • Participants who test positive are not allowed to remain on site, and will receive a full refund of their registration fee.
Situations in which you may not attend this event

You may not attend this event if any of the following are true for you or anyone in your party, unless you have met CDC criteria for discontinuing self-isolation:

    • Within 14 days before attending the event you have tested positive, or been exposed to someone who has tested positive, for COVID-19, or
    • Within 48 hours before attending the event, you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., a fever of 100 or higher, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking muscle pain/achiness, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), whether or not you are vaccinated, unless you have obtained a negative COVID-19 test since the onset of your symptoms and within 72 hours before entering this event.
FAQs about the vaccine/testing requirement

While PCR tests are preferred because they are the most accurate, antigen tests (also referred to as rapid tests) will be accepted.

Yes, children who are not fully vaccinated will need a negative COVID-19 test result to attend.

If you are not fully vaccinated, you can get tested at any facility that offers COVID-19 testing. The websites of most state or county public health departments can help you find testing locations. Many retail pharmacies also offer testing. Your event hosts will have a list of testing locations in the area of the event.

If you test positive for COVID-19 before the event, you are unfortunately no longer eligible to attend. To receive a full refund of your registration fee, email a copy of your positive test result to us at hangouts@escapees.com.

If you test positive for COVID-19 during the event, you may not remain on-site at the event.

If you’ve had COVID-19 within 14 days before attending the event (meaning you are still within the 14-day isolation window), you are unfortunately not eligible to attend. To receive a full refund of your registration fee, email a dated copy of your positive test result to us at hangouts@escapees.com.

If you’ve lost your CDC vaccine card, you will need to obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before arriving at the event.

Masks recommended indoors

In accordance with current guidance from the CDC, Escapees strongly recommends that all attendees, vaccinated or not, wear a mask when participating in activities or socializing with other participants indoors. Attendees are also expected to comply with all masking requirements issued by any governmental entity or private business.

Other precautions

The COVID-19 health and safety precautions that will be in effect during the Hangout will depend on the state of the pandemic, local and state health regulations, and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and other medical professionals at the time. These precautions may include measures such as requiring wearing of masks in certain situations, requiring social distancing, avoiding indoor group activities, limiting carpooling, and/or limiting activities that include sharing of food. In addition to the above, you may be required to agree in writing that you will help provide a safe environment for everyone by complying with our health and safety rules, and to release Escapees from liability should you become ill during or after the event.

Please also be aware that the availability and content of some planned activities may change depending on local and state health regulations and the business’ own COVID-19 mitigation policies.

Activities and schedule are subject to change. Activities marked with an *asterisk are not included in your Hangout fee.
