Vermilionville

Vermilionville

Early in the week, you'll visit the historic Vermilionville, which preserves and celebrates the history, culture, and natural resources of Native Americans, Acadians, Creoles, and African-descended peoples of the Attakapas region through the late 1800s. Enjoy a guided tour, a cooking demonstration, and a dance class featuring the Cajun two-step and waltz to get you feeling more comfortable and confident on the dance floor at Festivals Acadiens et Créole. McIlhenny Tabasco Sign

TABASCO® Tour & Jungle Gardens

Enjoy a self-guided tour of the TABASCO® Brand Factory, where you'll learn about the history and process of making TABASCO® Sauce. It was here, on Avery Island, that Edmund McIlhenny developed the recipe for TABASCO® Original Red Pepper Sauce, a recipe passed down over five generations. You'll also explore the Jungle Gardens, a lush botanical paradise featuring exotic plants, wildlife, and an iconic Buddha statue, all set amidst the scenic beauty of Louisiana’s bayou landscape. Swamp Tour

Swamp Boat Tour

We'll wrap up your Louisiana adventure on McGee's Louisiana Swamp Tour, a journey through the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp. Gliding past moss-draped cypress trees, you might spot graceful egrets perched just out of the reach of lingering alligators. Eco-friendly, educational, and full of charm, this tour is the perfect way to explore Louisiana’s natural wonders! Native Cajun tour guides will share personal stories about life on a houseboat or surviving off the swamp, all while pointing out the abundant plant life and getting you up close with the local wildlife!
