A Ghost Town Frozen in Time

Experience one of the most unique destinations in the Harvest Hosts network at the Wilds of Arizona CampOut tucked away in Ash Creek Canyon. This immersive weekend blends high-desert adventure with deep local history. Explore waterfalls and hidden creek beds, step inside historic mines, and learn the story of Chrysotile from those who know it best.

With guided canyon hikes, underground tours, optional off-road excursions, and evenings spent around a campfire under some of the darkest skies in the southwest, this Campout offers a balance of exploration and relaxation.

This is a "choose-your-own-adventure" weekend designed for Harvest Hosts and Escapees RV Club Members, who love to explore off the beaten path.

This is a DRY CAMPING event in a remote wilderness setting. Maximum Rig length 32 feet. Your rig must be fully self-contained, and your vehicle must be capable of navigating a steep, rugged mountain access road.

Evening Sky

Dark Sky Bonfires

Because this canyon is privately owned and miles from the nearest city lights, the stargazing is world-class. Nightly camp bonfires to swap stories of the day's discoveries under a canopy of stars you have to see to believe.

ASH CREEK CANYON

Located 35 miles NE of Globe, AZ, this property is a private 'in-holding' surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. You are entering a time capsule that has been locked away for nearly 80 years. The access via Hwy 60 is a maintained Forest Service road, it is dirt and rock and can be steep, but does not require a 4x4. Campers will park in large pull-in areas. Staff will meet all campers at the Ash Creek Canyon gate to guide you to your site. They can also meet you at the US60 turnoff if needing assistance. RIG LIMITATIONS: This event is strictly limited to rigs 32 feet or shorter. DRY CAMPING: This is a primitive experience. While water is available on-site if needed, you should arrive with full fresh tanks and empty waste tanks. No restrooms or showers are provided. Tent Camping Opportunity: If you wish to sleep under the stars, you can reserve a tent camping site in addition to your RV site. There are 6 sites along the canyon rim that are accessible only by 4x4 trucks and limited to tents only - no RVs, trailers, or camper vans are permitted at those spots. These will be available upon request.
