RV water pressure regulators fall into the “necessary evil” category for me
I need one to protect my RV plumbing systems from high city water pressure, but I have never liked them. Aside from my propensity to leave them behind when I depart a campsite, I have never been happy with the significant water flow restriction that inexpensive water pressure regulators cause.
Thankfully, there is now a solution: the Fairview 55 psi inline regulator. Available from Rick Dahl at the RV Water Filter Store, this regulator really is a step up in quality and functionality. It is similar in shape to the commonly available inline regulators sold by Camco and Valterra, but it is redesigned and re-tooled to provide less flow restriction. It also has a swivel on the female hose connection, making it possible to leave it attached to your fresh-water hose. This is a big advantage, as it makes it less likely to be left behind.
The unit is all brass and has a sliding rubber grip on it that makes it easy to tighten and loosen. It flows much better than the typical inexpensive regulators I have used for years, and this easy upgrade won’t hurt your pocketbook. Check it out, and while you’re there, check out Rick’s outstanding selection of filters and water system accessories.
