The RV Gadget Box thrives on gadget submissions by readers, so when I received the following message from Janice Lasko, our editor, I was intrigued but a little skeptical
Over the years of RVing, we have had our fair share of chairs, and we feel we have found the last chairs we’ll ever have to buy. We came across two models of STRONGBACK chairs. The elite model, with a little wider seat and taller back, has padded arms that make it easy to stand up, and it seems to suit taller, heavier-built persons.
The smaller model, just as comfortable, was perfect for those of us with shorter legs. I’ve owned a lot of folding chairs over the years, and while some of them have been better than others, I would have never used the word “comfortable” to describe any of them. I guess I’ll have to re-think that, as these new STRONGBACK chairs are amazing! They come in two sizes. The smaller one looks a lot like your typical
folding-chair-in-a-bag. However, its clever design provides a comfy seat that doesn’t poke or pinch anywhere, and it has great lumbar support. It is definitely the most comfortable small folding chair I have ever sat in, by a fair stretch, and it folds to a very compact size. That’s all good stuff, but wait, there’s more! The larger chair is, in my opinion, a real engineering marvel. The folding frame appears to be a unique new design. It is light, incredibly strong, and the chair transitions easily from folded to open and back to folded again with a minimum of hassle. It actually fits easily into its carrying bag, thanks to the innovative strap handle that is part of the design. It is large enough to seat ample-sized folks, and the arms are strong, at the correct height and padded for comfort. The real payoff comes when you sit down: This chair is absolutely the most comfortable folding chair I have ever had the pleasure to sit in. In fact, it is more comfortable than most of the chairs in my home! I realize that’s hard to believe, but it’s true. When the test chairs arrived at the office, I set them up and then asked a good number of folks to sit in them. The almost unanimous response was “Wow! That really is comfortable!”
If you bring this chair to a happy hour or a campfire gathering and anyone else sits in it, you may have to fight them to get it back!
